Massage has often been viewed as a treat, or a pamper, but it is so much more.
Massage therapy/body work and touch has been used throughout history as an important part of a
person’s holistic health. Right from birth, babies are massaged by their mother, instilling a vital sense of comfort, healing and well-being. Animals also use forms of massage in their bonding
Hippocrates, with all his innovations in what we now know as modern medicine, recognised the
importance that massage plays in a person’s health, both mentally and physically.
Swedish massage is a manual form of therapy. Therapists use a variety of techniques, pressure and
strokes on the muscles. Some aid relaxation and stress, whilst others involve tapotement and friction movements, for a more refreshing and uplifting massage. Therapists create treatment plans
specifically tailored to meet the individual client's needs.

Warm Bamboo Massage
This is an extremely relaxing and deeply therapeutic treatment. Warmed lengths of thick bamboo are
used to enhance your massage. Excellent for deeper work on the soft tissue and muscular areas around the shoulders. The heat from the bamboo penetrates deep in to the muscles and keeps working even
after the massage has finished. Definitely one to try!

This is a wonderfully relaxing treatment which works on the back, neck and shoulders before moving on
to your head and face.
Reiki (rei ki)
is Japanese for ‘universal life
energy’. This is a subtle energy which works on an
emotional, mental and physical level so is truly holistic. It is perceived to give your body the ability to heal and balance itself.
What Reiki CAN
As Reiki energy
directs itself to the part of the body which needs it, Reiki can allow the body, mind and spirit to become more relaxed, facilitate pain relief, ease symptoms; create an inner sense of calm and
content. Following a treatment, some may experience heightened emotions and this is something to be aware of.
What Reiki CAN’T
may assist the body in creating an environment to facilitate healing or make symptoms more manageable, it is not a cure for a disease or illness. Reiki
works in conjunction with traditional medicine. If you are under medical
supervision, do not substitute Reiki for any medication/advice you may be already receiving.
